Michel Eustache Vilaire

Michel Eustache Vilaire (born March 2, 1945 in Haiti ) is a Venezuelan choir conductor, music teacher and composer.

Life

Eustache Vilar began his career as the conductor of the choir of the Bautista Central church in Caracas . He studied choral conducting with Alberto Grau , attended the choir school of the “Fundación Schola Cantorum de Caracas” and the conservatory of the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Juventud Venezolana Simón Bolívar .

After studying at the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador (UPEL) in Caracas, he was artistic director of the "Movimiento Coral" Cantemos "" of the "Fundación Schola Cantorum" from 1977 to 1987. In addition, he worked for eight years as a professor of conducting technique and choral conducting at the Escuela de Canto Coral and taught choral singing with the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Juventud Venezolana Simón Bolívar . In 1982 he gave seminars at the “ Choralies de Vaison-la Romaine” in France, at “Europa Cantat” in Belgium and the “XIX. Jornadas de Canto Coral ”in Spain.

Since 1989 he has been teaching choir conducting and singing at UPEL. On Curaçao he worked for several years as a teacher for choral singing and as a juror at international choir festivals. He is the director of the Grupo Vocal Bach , the Orfeón Juan Bautista Plaza of the UPEL, the Coral de Petróleos de Venezuela and the Choir Corpoven. He has worked with his choirs, as a guest conductor and as a juror in Latin America, the USA and Europe.

Eustache Vilar composed psalms, motets, madrigals and choral songs. He is also - as the winner of a composition competition - composer of the anthem of the Ministerio Público of Venezuela.
