Miho Fukumoto ( Japanese 福 元 美 穂 , Fukumoto Miho ; born October 2, 1983 in Kagoshima Prefecture ) is a Japanese soccer player .

Club career

Fukumoto has been with Okayama Yunogo Belle since 2003 .

National team

Fukumoto completed her first international game for the Japanese national team on October 4, 2002 against Vietnam . She played at the 5th Women's World Cup in 2007 in all three games, at the 6th Women's World Cup in 2011 in Germany, Fukumoto was in the squad, but she was not used. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , she played all six games in Japan, but lost to the German team in the bronze medal game .

Fukumoto was also part of the Japanese squad for the London Olympics . It was used in five out of six games, including a. in the final, lost 1: 2 against the USA , and won the silver medal with their team. With a height of 1.64 m, she was the smallest goalkeeper of the tournament, but only had to accept four goals.

She was also part of the Japanese squad for the 2015 World Cup in Canada, but although she was the most experienced goalkeeper in the squad, she was only used in the last group game against Ecuador .
