Miloslav Růžek

Miloslav Růžek (* 1937 ) is a Czech saxophonist.

Růžek founded the rock band Olympic in 1963 - initially under the name Karkulka - whose debut album Želva contributed significantly to the breakthrough of rock music in Czechoslovakia. He was the band's artistic director until 1965. At the same time he also played the saxophone in the orchestra of the Apollo Theater. He was also a member of the Samuel's Band and the Orchestr Groš . From 1975 to 1990 he was Kapellmeister at the Semafor Theater .
