Ministry of Aviation

The Ministry of Aviation was a British government department created in 1959 after the Ministry of Supply was dissolved. Its role was to regulate and control civil aviation in the United Kingdom and to supply the Air Force with aircraft.

It was dissolved in 1967. Responsibility for supplying the British Air Force with aircraft was transferred to the Ministry of Technology , while regulation of civil aviation was entrusted to the Board of Trade .
