Minka Dumont Kelly (born June 24, 1980 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actress . She was best known for the NBC series Friday Night Lights . In 2010 she was voted " Sexiest Woman Alive " by Esquire magazine . She plays one of the leading roles in the series Titans , which is produced by Netflix.

life and career

Kelly is the only daughter of former Aerosmith - guitarist Rick Dufay and Maureen Kelly, a former Las Vegas -Showgirls. Her parents separated when she was young and she was raised by her mother. Her mother died of colon cancer in 2008. Her paternal grandfather was the actor and investment advisor Richard Ney .
