The Minskaja Woblasz ( Belarusian Мінская вобласць ; Russian Минская область / Minskaja Oblast ) is an administrative district in central Belarus . The capital of the Woblasz is Minsk (Belarusian Мінск ; Russian Минск ), which, however, does not belong to it itself, but has a special status as the capital of Belarus. In the north of the Woblasz is Lake Naratsch , the largest inland lake in the country and the most important destination for inland tourism.

Minskaya Woblasz is located in the center of Belarus and is the only one without an international border. It occupies 19.4% of the country's area and 15.3% of the total population of the country live here. The Woblasz includes 22 districts, 307 village soviets, 22 cities, including 8 cities of regional subordination and 20 urban settlements. The Woblasz covers around 40,800 km² and has a population of 1,503,000 (2004).
