The Mischabeljochbiwak is a refuge of the Swiss Alpine Club Section Geneva in the Valais Alps in the canton of Valais in Switzerland .

Location and operation

The bivouac is on the Mischabeljoch between Täschhorn and Alphubel ( 3855  m above sea level ). It is operated by the Geneva section of the Swiss Alpine Club and is not manned.

history

The SAC's second highest accommodation was built in 1966 and completely rebuilt in 1995. It offers 24 beds, a simple, functional interior with crockery, stove and heating with wood. The old construction of the Mischabeljoch bivouac was used in 1997 to build the Cresta bivouac .

  • From Täschalp (normal route) in 5 ½ hours, 1654 meters of altitude, WS degree of difficulty
  • From the Täschhütte over the Weingarten glacier in 4 to 5 hours
  • From Alphubel in 1 hour, 335 vertical meters descent, WS level of difficulty
  • From the Längfluh in 4 hours (difficult)
  • From Mittelallalin to Alphubel in 4 to 5 hours
