Mister Mugg is an American comedy film directed by James W. Horne . The short film had its US premiere on May 10, 1933.

action

Jimmy Gleason plays a bodyguard who is quick-witted in every way. He is given the task of protecting the woman played by Dorothy Christie from her lover. The two men fight a duel in a bar that gets out of control. When the police arrive, Gleason saves Christie, whom he has long since fallen in love with.

criticism

The Motion Picture Herald called the film a "good, lively comedy" and found that Jimmy Gleason in particular lifted the film above mediocrity.

Awards

Mister Mugg was nominated for an Oscar in the category “ Best Short Film - Comedy ” in 1934 , but couldn't stand against So This Is Harris! push through.
