The Moguntia Food Group AG (own spelling MOGUNTIA FOOD GROUP ) is a manufacturer of seasoning food, which in the production and distribution of products for target markets butchery, meat industry, food industry , food retail and catering concentrated and catering.
Moguntia was founded in 1903 by the butcher Friedrich Buchholz in Mainz and is a supplier of all kinds of spicy foods. He derived the name Moguntia from the old Roman name for the city of Mainz, Mogontiacum . The continuous growth of the family-run company into a group of companies with several brands led to the establishment of the umbrella organization Moguntia Food Group in 2017 . The Moguntia Food Group produces in Kirchbichl (Austria), Georgsmarienhütte (Germany), Gossau ZH (Switzerland) and Hetton-Le-Hole (Great Britain) , among others .

In addition to Germany and Austria , mainly Eastern European countries such as Russia , Poland , Ukraine and Kazakhstan , but also Japan and the Middle East are part of the business area.

Products
The product palette ranges from raw, sausage, decorative, delicatessen and household spices. Flavors and food additives are also included. Aids such as cutter aids, reddening aids, flavor enhancers, emulsifiers , starter cultures, etc. are also part of the range. In addition, ready-made marinades , sauces , fixed products such as soups and broths are offered.

Spice mill Mainz
The old spice mill which now houses the Mainzer districts Bretzenheim and upper town belonging Zahlbach was purchased in the 1930s and has been shut down since 2,001th Initially, the building, built in 1925, served a shoe factory . The building complex was brought into its current U-shape in 1938 and 1950 ; the spice mill tower (1952) formed the visual center.
After the closure, several art exhibitions took place in the listed building . The demolition work on the site has been going on since October 2006, whereby the mill tower, which is under monument protection, has been preserved. After the remaining buildings were completely demolished, a residential complex comprising 137 apartments was built on the site by 2009, into which the renovated mill tower was integrated.
