Mopani is a district within Limpopo Province in South Africa . It has 1,092,507 inhabitants (as of October 2011) on a total area of ​​20,011 km². The district administration is based in Giyani .

The district is named after the common mopane tree. The word origin is in Tshivenda mupani (in Sepedi motlhanare, in Xitsonga muxanatsi ).
