Muriel Pénicaud (born March 31, 1955 in Versailles ) is a French politician. On May 15, 2017, she was appointed Minister of Labor in the transitional cabinet, Cabinet Philippe I ; she is also Minister of Labor in the Philippe II cabinet .

Muriel Pénicaud was born in March 1955. She graduated from the University of Paris-Nanterre . She graduated from Insead Business School . She worked u. a. as a consultant for professional development under the Minister of Labor Martine Aubry (1991–1993), as a board member responsible for human resources at the large corporations Dassault Systèmes (2002–2008) and Danone (2008–2013), at the telecommunications group Orange and most recently for the airport operator Aéroports de Paris .

On July 27, 2017, it was announced that she made a profit of EUR 1.13 million in February 2013 by redeeming stock options . The day before, she announced the dismissal of 900 employees.

Pénicaud was non-party when she was appointed minister. She is a member of the LREM, founded in 2016 by Emmanuel Macron .
