The Museum of the Liptov Village Pribylina ( Slovak Múzeum liptovskej dediny Pribylina ) is an open-air museum in northern Slovakia near Pribylina at the foot of the High Tatras . Buildings were mainly built from villages that were flooded by the construction of the Liptovská Mara dam , especially from Liptovská Mara . Organizationally, the Liptov Village Museum is part of the Liptov Museum ( Liptovské múzeum in Slovak ) based in Ružomberok.
description
The museum opened in 1991. The most important buildings are the early Gothic church from the village of Liptovská Mara, which is flooded by the reservoir, and a manor house with architectural elements from the Gothic and Renaissance periods from Liptovská Mara. The largest wooden building is an inn . Other objects that were typical of the life of the villagers are another inn, a school , the fire department , a shop and several churches.
Since 2004 there has been an exhibition with vehicles from the former narrow-gauge forest railway Považská lesná železnica , which ran along the Black Waag from 1921 to 1972 . There are currently only a few hundred meters of track in the museum. It is planned to rebuild a drivable route in the museum.
The museum breeds local domestic animals, especially Hutsul horses.
