A muscle box (compartment) is a group of muscles bounded by a fascia . Muscle boxes can be found in the extremities , for example , where muscles with similar tasks are connected to form a muscle box.

In the lower leg are, for example, four muscle compartments:

  • the extensor group

The compartment syndrome is a disorder of the muscles, nerves and blood vessels in a common compartment.
