Mustafa Kučuković (born November 5, 1986 in Bosanski Novi ) is a former German football player .

Career

Born in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kučuković came to Germany at the age of five, first played at SSV Buer 07/28 in Gelsenkirchen and in 1997 moved to the youth department of FC Schalke 04 , where he spent the following six years. As a B-youth he was signed by VfL Bochum , where he made a name for himself in the 2003/04 U-19 Bundesliga with 25 goals in 26 games.

Since the 2004/05 season Kučuković played at Hamburger SV . He played ten Bundesliga games for the HSV professional team, two in the UEFA Cup and one in the UI Cup . Most of the time, however, the striker was used in the 2nd team in the Regionalliga Nord , where he scored 18 goals in 32 games. During his time in Hamburg he was used five times in the U-20 national team , having previously played nine games for the U-19s .

In the 2006/07 season he was loaned to SpVgg Greuther Fürth and then returned for a short time to the Hamburger SV squad before moving to 1860 Munich in August 2007 .

In Munich, Kučuković played in the second Bundesliga, and he also ran several times in the second team. In the 2008/09 season he came almost only to short appearances, on January 30, 2009 Kučuković moved to the French first division club Grenoble Foot 38 . In April 2010 he terminated his contract with Grenoble Foot. Five months later, the former German junior international signed with the Danish first division club Sønderjysk Elitesport .

For the 2011/12 season Kučuković returned to Germany and played for the second division club FC Energie Cottbus . However, he and the club split up six months later during the winter break, as Kučuković wanted to return to his home country for private reasons. In January 2012 the striker signed a contract with Olympiacos Nicosia from the Cypriot First Division , where he played until the summer.

For the 2013/14 season , Kučuković returned to Germany and signed a two-year contract with third division club FC Hansa Rostock . On October 31, 2014, he scored two goals in stoppage time against VfL Osnabrück, helping his team to a draw after being 2-0 down. In January 2015, his contract was terminated; a month later he temporarily ended his career for health reasons.

On July 23, 2016 it became known that SK Hansa Kučuković from Lüneburg had signed. He received a contract in Lüneburg until June 30, 2017. At the end of January 2017, the press said that this contract was terminated and that Kučuković would henceforth play in the Hamburg Landesliga Hansa for the club Hamm United FC . At the beginning of February he was banned from the Hamburg Football Association and has since been the subject of a dispute between the Hamburg club and the association. His first game for Hamm United made on matchday 22 in a 2-2 draw against TSV Sasel . At the end of the season he ended his career.
