action

A text panel at the beginning indicates that although the film is also intended as entertainment, it is above all intended to remind viewers of the heritage of the country that they are to enjoy and preserve for posterity. What follows is a review of the history of the United States . Starting with the pilgrim fathers who colonize the country, the overview continues to the settlers who follow them and establish the colonies. The first taxes and violent protests against it followed, whereupon Patrick Henry gave the famous speech Give me Liberty, or give me Death! holds. It comes to the Boston Tea Party and the Declaration of Independence with the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights . George Washington becomes the country's first president.

The War of 1812 followed and Francis Scott Key wrote the song The Star-Spangled Banner . The northern states fight the southern states and Abraham Lincoln is murdered. The railroad conquered the country and after the end of the First World War a building boom began in the country. The Second World War begins in the United States with the attack on Pearl Harbor . The United States is active in Italy, Africa and Germany and is victorious, but has suffered a severe loss in its country with the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt . The world war ends for the United States with the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which is gloriously portrayed and shown. This is followed by the signing of the United Nations Charter and the realization that with the Cold War a new war has begun. The North Atlantic Treaty unites the peace-loving peoples. The spokesman stressed that America had won six wars in the past and would continue to ensure that peace does not disappear from the earth.

production

The Technicolor film was cut from newsreels as well as short and long films. Narrator Marvin Miller introduces the history of the United States along with the pictures.
