Nadezhda Ilyina ( Russian Надежда Леонидовна Ильина ., English transcription Nadezhda Ilyina, born Колесникова - Kolesnikova - Kolesnikova * 24. January 1949 in Zelenokumsk , † 7. December 2013 in the Moscow Oblast ) was a Soviet sprinter , focusing on the 400-meter run .

Career

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, she was eliminated in the semi-finals and came eighth with the Soviet team in the 4 x 400 meter relay . In 1973 she won the Universiade .

In 1974 she won silver at the European Athletics Indoor Championships . At the European Athletics Championships in Rome , she was fourth in the individual competition and won bronze with the Soviet team in the 4 x 400 meter relay . Another silver medal at the European Indoor Championships followed in 1975.

The following year she reached the semifinals again at the Olympic Games in Montreal . In the 4 x 400 meter relay, she won the bronze medal with the Soviet quartet.

She was Soviet outdoor champion three times (1973-1975) and twice indoors (1973, 1974).

Nadezhda Ilyina was killed in a car accident on December 7, 2013.

Her daughter is the professional tennis player Nadezhda Petrowa .
