Naiara Egozkue Extremado (born October 21, 1983 in Pamplona ) is a former Spanish handball player who was part of the squad of the Spanish national team.

Career

Naiara Egozkue started playing handball at the Spanish club Beti Onak Villava in 1994. Ten years later she took the Spanish first division team SD Itxako under contract. With Itxako, the outside player won the championship in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, the Spanish Cup in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and the EHF Cup in 2009. She was also in the final of the EHF Cup in 2008 and in the final of the EHF Champions League in 2011 . From the 2012/13 season she played for the German Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen . In the summer of 2014, she moved to the Spanish first division club Atlético Guardés. In the 2016/17 season she was under contract with CB Zuazo. She then returned to Atlético Guardés. She ended her career in June 2019.

Naiara Egozkue took part in the 2013 World Cup in Serbia with the Spanish selection . During the tournament she scored five goals in six games. In 2014 she won the silver medal at the European Championships. She took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
