Navinchandra Ramgoolam

Navinchandra Ramgoolam (born July 14, 1947 ) is a Mauritian politician .

He was Prime Minister from 1995 to 2000 and was re-elected on July 5, 2005, after his Alliance Sociale (a coalition of his Maurition Labor Party , the Maurition Party of Xavier-Luc Duval and several small groups) appointed then Prime Minister Anerood Jugnauth of the Militant Socialist Movement had beaten in the July 3 election. He resigned from his post on December 12, 2014.

He is the son of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam , the "father" of the nation. He studied medicine in Dublin and was approved by the General Medical Council of Great Britain in 1977 . He later received a master's degree in law , but he never worked as a lawyer.
