The Neandertal Trail is a 94-kilometer hiking trail run by the Sauerland Mountain Association (SGV).

It leads from the Duisburg Zoo via the Neandertal , Leichlingen (Rhineland) and Altenberg to Bensberg . The hiking trail stretches through the valley named after the hymn poet Joachim Neander , where remains of Neanderthal bones were found.

The hiking trail falls into the category of the main hiking trails of the SGV and, like all other main hiking trails, has the white St. Andrew's cross X as a sign , extended by the number 30 at intersections.
