history

The EnBW Regional AG , the predecessor company of networks BW GmbH , was established on 1 July 1999 from the merger of EnBW Baden factory AG and EnBW Energie-Versorgung Schwaben AG .

In October 2003, NWS Regional AG & Co. KG , the network company of Neckarwerke Stuttgart AG (NWS), was integrated into EnBW Regional AG . Before that, in June 2003, the gas business of NWS was already bundled in EnBW Gas GmbH . The technical business procurement was carried out by EnBW Regional AG .

In July 2007, EnBW Gasnetz GmbH was founded as a subsidiary of EnBW Gas GmbH for unbundling reasons, the separation of network operators and energy sales required by the Energy Industry Act . In July 2012, EnBW Gas GmbH and EnBW Gasnetz GmbH were merged with EnBW Regional AG .

On February 1, 2014, EnBW Regional AG was renamed Netze BW GmbH . With this change, the requirement of the Energy Industry Act was met, according to which the branding of the companies for network operation and for the sale of energy services must be clearly separated.

In August 2015, the water business in the state capital Stuttgart was incorporated into Netze BW Wasser GmbH .
