Nicolás Iván González (born April 6, 1998 in Belén de Escobar ) is an Argentine football player .

Career

society

From 2005 Nicolás González trained in the youth of the Argentinos Juniors . In July 2016 he made his debut for the Argentinos first team in the Copa Argentina. He then became a regular at the club in Primera B Nacional . On July 8, 2017, Nicolás González made the Argentinos Juniors' premature promotion to the Primera División perfect with his goal to win a 1-0 home win against Club Atlético Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy . He then scored seven goals in the 2017/18 first division.

On July 10, 2018, Nicolás González moved to VfB Stuttgart and signed a contract with the Swabians that ran until June 30, 2023. Scored in the 3-1 home defeat against FC Schalke 04 on December 22, 2018 (17th matchday) he headed his first Bundesliga goal for Stuttgart.

On May 27, 2019, in the relegation second leg between 1. FC Union Berlin and VfB Stuttgart, a free-kick goal by Dennis Aogo was subsequently revoked by video evidence due to a passive offside position by González . The game ended goalless and VfB had to relegate to the 2nd Bundesliga. In the second division 2019/20 season , the attacker was involved in the direct return to the Bundesliga with 14 goals.

National team

After preparing for the 2019 Pan American Games with the Argentine U23 national team through training games against club teams , González played his first official U23 international match against Ecuador on July 29, 2019, and received the red in the 26th minute of the game Map. In the semifinals he was back in the starting line-up in the 3-0 win against Uruguay on August 7, 2019. González was again in action over the full game distance when he secured the gold medal with Argentina in the final against Honduras on August 10, 2019 with a 4-1 win.

González made his debut for the senior team of Argentina on October 13, 2019 in a friendly against Ecuador in Elche .
