Nicolas Richter

Nicolas Richter (* 1973 in Geneva ) is a journalist .

After studying law in Munich and Paris, Richter initially worked in the New York offices of the German Press Agency and ZDF and then volunteered at the Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ).

In the foreign policy department of the SZ, Richter wrote about international law , international criminal law and the fight against terrorism.

From 2009 to 2012 he was an editor in the research department of the SZ; together with Klaus Ott , he revealed the Formula 1 affair surrounding Bernie Ecclestone and, with Hans Leyendecker, the script affair on public television. Since 2013 he has been reporting on US politics and society as the Washington correspondent for the SZ. Since the beginning of 2018 he has headed the Investigative Research department of the SZ together with Bastian Obermayer .
