Nikolai Weber (born October 25, 1980 in Munzenberg ) is a German handball goalkeeper . He is 1.95 m tall and plays for the second division TV Hüttenberg .

Career

Nikolai Weber started playing handball in his hometown at HSG Münzenberg / Gambach. He came to HSG Wetzlar as early as 2000 , for which he also made his debut in the Bundesliga. Behind Axel Geerken and Waldemar Strzelec , however, he was initially only third choice in the Wetzlarer Tor. In order to gain more match practice, he switched to the then second division TV Gelnhausen in 2002 . He stayed there for three years before returning to the Wetzlar team in 2005. He developed into the goalkeeper and leading player of the Bundesliga team. From the 2013/14 season Weber played for TSV Hannover-Burgdorf . In the summer of 2015 he returned to Wetzlar, where he signed a three-year contract. Weber was already the captain of the Wetzlar team in 2011/12 and was appointed captain again for the 2016/17 season.

He has been wearing the TV 05/07 Hüttenberg jersey since the 2018/19 season .

Nikolai Weber has played four international matches for the German junior national team.
