Live and act

When his parents planned for him to pursue an academic career and opposed his trumpeting career, he left home at the age of 19, who was not of legal age at the time. A night club job was terminated by the police who took him back home. Nevertheless, he was finally able to prevail against his parents.

He founded a small band with which he went on international tours and soon established his reputation as the best jazz trumpeter in Italy.

In the early 1960s he landed in Italy with pieces such as La ballata della tromba and the self-composed Concerto disperato Hits. The last track became internationally known as the theme music for the film Marschier oder Krrepier (with Stewart Granger). In the Federal Republic of Germany this recording appeared on the German label Italia .

He had his biggest hit in 1965 with the instrumental trumpet piece Il Silenzio . The piece was a global hit, sold ten million times and topped the charts in numerous countries, including Germany , where it was the hit of the year, in Austria and Switzerland. The single sold over two million times in Germany, for which Rosso received a platinum record from his music label. Over 750,000 records were sold in his native Italy.
