Noemi (* 25. January 1982 in Rome as Veronica Scopelliti ) is an Italian pop singer who particularly through its participation in X Factor (2009) and the Sanremo Music Festival (2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018) became known.

Career

Noemi learned piano and guitar in her childhood . In 2001 she graduated from the classical lyceum and then studied at the University of Rome III Discipline delle Arti, della Musica e dello Spettacolo . In 2004 she graduated. In the meantime she began to work with the composer and arranger Diego Calvetti .

Noemi took part in the Sanremolab competition in 2007 and made it into the twelve finalists, but not the top three, approved for the 2008 Sanremo Festival . Two years later, the singer tried again, this time on the casting show X Factor , where she was able to achieve fifth place and for the first time received greater attention. Her next single Briciole just missed the top of the chart . Still in 2009 she appeared as the opening act at a Simply Red concert and finally released the first album Sulla mia pelle , which reached the top three of the album charts. The included song L'amore si odia , a duet with Fiorella Mannoia , became Noemi's first number one hit .

Another number one hit she achieved the following year with Per tutta la vita , after participating in the Sanremo Festival 2010 , which was included in a special edition of her first album. In 2011 Noemi's second album RossoNoemi was released , which was preceded by the single Vuoto a perdere ; the song was also part of the soundtrack of the film Femmine contro maschi by Fausto Brizzi . In 2012 the singer returned to the Sanremo Festival with Sono solo parole and achieved third place; afterwards a special edition of their second album appeared again. In 2013, she served as a juror on the first season of the talent show The Voice of Italy , a position that she took up again in subsequent seasons.

After moving to London , Noemi took part in the Sanremo Festival for the third time in 2014 . Their contributions were produced in London like the album that was subsequently released, hence the title Made in London . With this album, the singer achieved her best position in the charts to date (number two). She remained The Voice coach until 2015, in 2016 she returned to Sanremo with La borsa di una donna and made it to eighth place. The album Cuore d'artista was then released .

At the Sanremo Festival 2018 Noemi reached 14th place with Non smettere mai di cercarmi . She then released La luna as her fifth album .
