Noorderkerk

The Evangelical Reformed Noorderkerk is a church built between 1620 and 1623 on the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam . Construction began under the architect Hendrick de Keyser and, after his death, was completed by his son Pieter de Keyser .

history

The church, which has an octagonal floor plan, was restored between 1993 and 1998. The city of Amsterdam and the Dutch state had massively participated. In return, the church was opened for cultural purposes, for example concerts are held there today.

organ

The organ was built between 1847 and 1849. The organ case and the organ work were built by the carpenter G. Nijhoff, under the supervision of the architect and the organ builder Knipscheer. The organ was last extensively restored in 2005 by the Flentrop organ building company and returned to its original condition. The instrument has 27 registers on two manuals and a pedal .
