Nordmagazin is the regional magazine of the North German Broadcasting Corporation for the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It can be received terrestrially, via cable, digitally via satellite and via Zattoo . Nordmagazin is broadcast every day, except on public holidays, at 7.30 p.m. and is repeated the next day at 9 a.m. on NDR television and on Radio Bremen TV. The Nordmagazin brings cultural and political information for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Stories from the country and regional sport are also part of the content of the Nordmagazin.

The regional magazine, like the program of the radio station NDR 1 Radio MV , is produced in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania regional radio station in Schwerin . The three regional studios in Greifswald , Neubrandenburg and Rostock also provide reports and information. It has been broadcast in HD since 2014 .

In addition to the Nordmagazin at 7.30 p.m. there is also the 15-minute edition Nordmagazin - Land und Menschen with additional documentation on NDR, which is broadcast every day except on public holidays at 6 p.m.

country and people

The 15-minute, daily special program Nordmagazin - Land und Menschen is devoted to a specific regional topic in more detail. In the last third of the broadcast, a brief overview of the news is broadcast, which is presented in greater detail in the main broadcast of the North magazine.

Rubrics

There are several rubrics that are repeatedly broadcast in the north magazine. Usually they are shown once a week on the same days, sometimes several times with changing topics. Some sections depend on the season or are broadcast irregularly.

The individual formats (as of October 2014):

Picture action

Before each weather report, a picture from the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is presented, which a viewer sent to the editorial office. Several viewer images are shown one after the other at irregular intervals.

Village history

The village history shows a different village (or district) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania every Monday , which is drawn beforehand. The moderators try to gain impressions directly on site, to get to know history, sights and people in an unadulterated way. In manor villages, the local manor house is usually presented in more detail or another striking sight ( church , castle , barn , windmill , etc.).

Garden tip

The garden tip is a series that is broadcast from spring to early autumn. Peter Rasch presents useful tricks for gardening enthusiasts.

Hand in hand for Northern Germany

The NDR charity campaign Hand in Hand for Northern Germany takes place at the end of each year. The focus is on donation campaigns for various regional and national institutions and people, which are presented in the Nordmagazin.

Local lore

The Heimatkunde series presented interesting facts about Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on Saturdays. The contributions are usually around two minutes long and they are presented in a humorous way as animated films . Heimatkunde was broadcast for the first time in February 2008, and volumes of books were published in 2009 and 2013 for broadcast by the Rostock Hinstorff Verlag .

Cooking tip

The cooking tip will be presented by Rainer Lemmer from November 2013 to November 2015. Above all, regional ingredients and their preparation are presented. Lemmer otherwise runs a restaurant in Rostock.

Made in MV

In the Made in MV category, founders, companies and products from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are presented at irregular intervals.

My best experience

In my most beautiful experience , a street survey is shown on Saturday in changing cities in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, in which passers-by briefly review their week and report on their most enjoyable personal event.

Summer tour

The NDR summer tour leads through various cities in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania every summer and is accompanied by NDR 1 Radio MV and NDR television. With every stopover, part of the event is broadcast live in the Nordmagazin , usually a small competition is held for a good cause. Moderators include Sabine Kühn and Frank Stuckatz, as well as Kathrin Feistner and Ralf Markert from NDR 1.

What when where

Events in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are announced briefly and with pictures at Was Wann Wo . Usually three to five events are shown in quick succession.

Weekly review

Every Saturday a review is shown with cuts from the entire week. The contributions to the week in Nordmagazin are mostly satirical by Michael Rödger.

Time travel

The journey through time has been broadcast since October 7, 1998, the GDR would have had its 49th anniversary on that day. Since then, individual or several people have been telling their memories of historical chapters or personal memories, with reference to the regional history of MVs.

The series Our story: Atlas des Aufbruch is a special series for the 25th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution , the end of the GDR.
