The Novatic Group is one of the VEB Lackfabrik Dresden and founded in 1862 paint factory CW Pabst KG in Halle emerged group of companies with Europe eight subsidiaries . Company history

Novatic plant in Halle (Saale)

The Dresdner Lackfabrik novatic GmbH & Co. KG was founded in December 1990 by Wilfried Zill and the Krefeld Feidal Lackfabrik GmbH & Co. KG as Dresdner Lackfabrik FEIDAL GmbH. In February 1991 she acquired the Dresden part of the former VEB Lackfabrik from the Treuhandanstalt and started operations in April of the same year with 42 employees and Wilfried Zill as managing partner. The annual tonnage in December 1991 was around 1,800 tons. From 1993 all east German power plants for renovation and repair work were supplied with corrosion protection . A sales company was founded in 1995 in the Czech Republic, another one in Poland in 1998 and one in Slovakia in 2001. Since 1998, current research results from our own development department on environmentally friendly water-based paints have been incorporated into production in Dresden. By the end of 2006, the annual tonnage had increased to 5500 tons.

In 2007 the umbrella brand "novatic Group" was introduced and the company in Dresden became "Dresdner Lackfabrik novatic GmbH & Co. KG". In addition, a sales company in Russia ( St. Petersburg ) started its work and the paint factory CW Pabst KG in Halle, founded in 1862, was taken over. In 2008, the production of special paints began in Teplice, Czech Republic, and construction paint production in Halle. In 2011 a new production plant was put into operation in Dresden, and in 2013 development work began for the solvamix-i and solvamix-oem mixing systems. Vehicle coatings have been developed and produced for customers in Europe and Asia since 2013 .

The foundation of novatic COATINGS in Moscow and the foundation of novatic Austria GmbH in Salzburg will take place in 2014, as will the expansion of the business areas to include anti-corrosion coatings, building protection, industrial and vehicle paints as well as building paints. In the same year, exports to the Middle East, the introduction of vehicle paints at Daimler AG International, the introduction of the solvamix mixing series for industrial and vehicle paints and the introduction of fully automated modular production in Dresden, Halle and Teplice begin. In March 2015, the acquisition of Vinpol Coatings in Pune and the opening of a new factory for decorative, construction and industrial coatings in Moscow. In September 2017 the Novatic Group had 241 employees, produces at three European and one Asian locations and consists of a total of 8 companies. Sales run in Europe, the MENA region , Southeast Asia, China, South and Central America.

Business areas

The Novatic Group conducts research, development and production of paints and varnishes. Novatic manufactures products for coating systems in accordance with the international standard for protection against corrosion DIN EN ISO 12944 for all corrosivity categories and protection times.

Among other things, the trade names “solvatic” are used for solvent-free , reduced or solvent-containing substances, and “aquatic” for aqueous systems or substances. "Solvamix-i" and "solvamix-oem" are automated, modular production systems for the industrial / protective and automotive coatings sectors. The various Novatic products are used by many well-known industrial companies such as ABB , Alstom , Daimler Commercial Vehicles , Deutsche Bahn , Enercon , RWE , Siemens and Vattenfall .

Locations

The group's headquarters are in Dresden , Saxony, and with around 90 employees, it is the largest novatic COATINGS site. The second German location is in Halle . In Europe, the Novatic group of companies also produces at its Moscow location (Russian Federation). Another production site is located in Pune (India) and supplies the Indian market.

In addition to the production plants, the Novatic group of companies has its own sales companies in Wroclaw ( Poland ), Salzburg ( Austria ), Paris ( France ), Dubai ( United Arab Emirates ) and cooperation partners in sales in Riga ( Latvia ), Gdansk (Poland), Kranj ( Slovenia ), Jeddah ( Saudi Arabia ), Istanbul ( Turkey ).

Patents

  • Sandwich protection system for concrete surfaces of towers for wind turbines.
  • Special 3-layer composite lacquer system, applied in the lamination process, consisting of 2K epoxy fabric adhesive, glass fiber fabric and 2K PUR top coat, water-based. The peculiarity of this system is the thermo-chemical reactivity / drying between 2K epoxy fabric adhesive and 2K PUR topcoat water-based.
  • Special 2-layer paint system, applied in the form of filler and 2K polyaspartic topcoat on concrete . The special features of this cost-saving system are the thermo-chemical reactivity / drying between 2K filler and 2K polyaspartic topcoat as well as the low layer thickness of max. 150 µm. Despite these special features, a protection period of over 15 years is granted.
  • Special 2-layer duplex lacquer system, applied in the form of filler and 2K PUR top lacquer water-based on concrete. The special features of this cost-saving system are the thermo-chemical reactivity / drying between the 2K leveling compound and the 2K PUR topcoat, watery, the low layer thickness of max. 120 µm, the extremely low content of organic solvents and a protection period of over 15 years.

public perception

Novatic is mentioned in the relevant specialist publications but also in the daily press, for example in connection with the restoration of the Müngsten Bridge or the Blue Wonder in Dresden, which are provided with novatic coatings. Novatic is regularly represented at national and international trade fairs.

In 2015 the company won the Macher 25 - The Great Business Prize of the East .

social commitment

Novatic regularly sponsors primarily regional events, various sports clubs such as SG Dynamo Dresden , but also social projects such as the sailing training ship Greif or the Dresdener Tafeln are supported.
