The Nuhne is a 29.15 km from Nuhne origin, but together with its source stream Sonneborn 36.4 km long, western and orographically left tributary of the Eder in North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse ( Germany ).

course

The Nuhne arises in the Rothaargebirge in Züschen , a southern district of Winterberg , through which at 463  m above sea level. NHN located the confluence of its two headwaters - Sonneborn and Ahre . There is a marker there.

From there the Nuhne flows along federal highway 236 in a south-easterly direction through the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature park , for example north past the Heidekopf ( 703.8  m ). After leaving the mountains, after which it flows from Hallenberg a little through the southern part of the Medebach Bay , it forms part of the Westphalian-Hessian border between the Hessian towns of Somplar (eastern district of Bromskirchen ) and Rengershausen (northwestern district of Frankenberg ), after which it leaves the nature park. The river then runs southeast through the Waldstruth natural area .

A few kilometers southeast of Rengershausen the Nuhne reaches the Hessian Schreufa (northern district of Frankenberg), after which it flows under the Unteren Edertalbahn at the Eder river  kilometer 86.75 coming from the northwest at an altitude of 265  m into the Fulda tributary Eder .
