Nutaku is a video game -Vertriebsplattform for erotic games , especially Hentai , based in Montreal , Quebec , Canada . The platform focuses on browser , download and mobile games, both as free downloads with microtransactions or for purchase .
Nutaku has 130 million monthly visitors and serves as a platform for western indie game developers. The company offers games with pornographic content in a wide variety of genres, from action adventure to real-time strategy and dating simulation to visual , kinetic novels and virtual reality . The platform had around 40 million registered users in 2019.
Nutaku is a subsidiary of Mindgeek .
history
Although Nutaku was only officially launched in January 2015, a partnership was started with the Japanese company DMM.com , which sells adult videos and sex toys . Nutaku is the only distributor for DMM.com that distributes and promotes its games outside of Japan in the west. The platform started with four Japanese games translated into English. The first game that was released by Nutaku was the RPG card collecting game Lord of Valkyrie . The platform then expanded its selection to include adventure, city building and simulation games. However, Nutaku is known for its wide range of translated adult games.
In August 2015, a browser version of the game Everlasting Summer with explicit scenes appeared on Nutaku, before a defused version of the website for underage visitors was launched online in November.
In July 2016, Nutaku announced its partnership with Kimochi , a downloadable game client that specializes in the global digital distribution of adult games. At the time, the platform had 50 employees and 14 million page visitors per month. The company said it planned to invest approximately $ 2 million in the implementation of promising adult games in 2017, after which 50 development teams applied for the investment.
At the beginning of 2017, Nutaku released Android- compatible versions of various adult games. In February of the same year, the company announced Kimoch Red Light, a crowdfunding platform to finance the production of adult games.
At a panel at AnimeExpo , a company employee stated that Nutaku was a "hot version of Steam ." At the end of 2018, Nutaku announced that it would also add LGBTQ- oriented adult games to its portfolio. The company offered developers $ 5 million in 2019 to produce LGBTQ adult games.
In November 2018 it was announced that Nutaku would offer many of their games in the portfolio in multiple languages, including Spanish , French , German , Polish and Chinese . Previously, the titles were only playable in Japanese and English . In a panel at Gamescom in August 2019, Mark Antoon, Vice President of Mindgeek and Nutaku, announced that the platform had 40 million registered users and 130 million monthly page visits. It was also stated that there are 375 game titles in the portfolio of the online gaming platform.
