The OHE DL 7 was a four-axle diesel locomotive of the locomotive factory Jung . It was built as the only example with the type designation Jung RC 70 BB in 1972 for the Osthavelländische Eisenbahn AG and was intended for heavy shunting and freight train service.

The locomotive was the last and the only diesel locomotive produced with bogies from Jung and was in use until 2003.

history

The OHE DL 7 is a locomotive of the fifth post-war generation of young locomotives, which consisted of a total of four types. The manufacturer designation RC 70 BB was derived from RC = locomotives of the type RC , 70 = approximately 1/10 of the engine power in HP and BB = wheel arrangement. This designation was not correct for the DL 7 because it had a powerful drive motor with almost 1000 hp.

With the locomotive, the Jung Lokfabrik wanted to advance into the areas of responsibility of the DB series V 100 , it was intended as a possible successor to the DB series V 60 or as a more economical version of the DB series V 90 .

As the other locomotives of the fifth generation had the DL 7 a propeller shaft drive with an axle suspension, and a suspension with Megi, optional was also the equipment of the locomotives flow reversing gear is provided. The RC 70 BB was offered in the manufacturer's catalog in the power ranges from 700 to 1200 hp as well as a narrow-gauge locomotive and also with a diesel-electric drive .

Ultimately, the competition from other manufacturers was too great, so that only one locomotive was produced.

technology

The locomotive had a central driver's cab and a bridge frame for the bogie drive. The stems were of different sizes and the frame construction was of the same thickness.

It was equipped with a twelve-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine from MTU Friedrichshafen (MTU) with the designation 12V362 , which could deliver 980 hp at a speed of 1600 revolutions per minute. The diesel-hydraulic drive came from Voith .

The entrances for the driver's cab and the maneuvering steps are integrated in the wide frame construction. The frame color was orange, the rest of the stems and driver's cab were made with a fluorescent paint with a metallic effect.

commitment

The locomotive was acquired by the Osthavelländische Eisenbahn in 1972 and was used in heavy freight train service until 2003. After being shut down that year, it was sold to Italy . The whereabouts of the locomotive there is not known.
