The OSC Bremerhaven (Olympic Sports Club Bremerhaven v. 1972 eV) is a sports club in Germany with around 3000 members for aikido , American football , badminton , basketball , billiards , cheerleading , fitness , recreational sports , soccer , handball , judo , jiu-jitsu , Ju-jutsu , karate , athletics , shooting , dance sports , tennis , table tennis , triathlon , gymnastics and volleyball . The association also offers an extensive course program for non-members. Due to its diverse range, the club has the opportunity to offer inclusive sport in various areas and is a support club for integration in sport.

Home of the club is the urban North Sea Stadium from 1975 in the north , which was made available to the club for use. In 2019 a redevelopment concept was presented and the stadium is to be redeveloped by the city by 2023.

There are also two artificial turf courts, a tennis court and outdoor facilities for recreational sports on which shuffleboard , boules , summer curling and chess can be played. In addition, several halls are attached to the stadium, in which almost all sports can be performed.

Since 2010, the large hall has had an extendable grandstand that can seat up to 300 people. The directly adjoining bath 3 of the bathing company Bremerhaven is used as the only competition bath by the departments of the association.

history

In 1972, through the merger of several Bremerhaven clubs, the OSC Bremerhaven club was founded. This included sorted by date of foundation

  • the TVB (Turnverein Bremerhaven) from 1859 as a predecessor of the ATSB, which was founded by Justus Lion and 64 men in 1859;
  • TuS Bremerhaven 93 from 1893 transferred in 1974;
  • the ATSB (General Gymnastics and Sports Club Bremerhaven) from 1919 was a co-founder of the OSC;
  • the PSV (Police Sport Club (Unterweser)) from 1923 was a co-founder of the OSC;
  • the JC (Judo Club) Bremerhaven from 1955 merged in 1975;
  • the TGC "Blau-Gold" Bremerhaven from 1955
  • the 1st German-American Sports and Football Club Bremerhaven Seahawks from 1979 merged in 1987
  • the 1. BSV (Billard-Sportverein Bremerhaven) from 1988 transferred in 1988;

The previous club, the TVB, was founded in 1859 as the first gymnastics club on the Lower Weser. This later became the ATSB. On July 10, 1974, all athletes from the well-known TuS Bremerhaven 93 transferred to the OSC, with the exception of the league eleven.

Soccer

Men's

The 93 team played for three more years under the old name and secured promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1977 after the league championship. Then she joined the OSC and the soccer team played as OSC in the 1977/78 season in the 2nd Bundesliga . You rose in the same season as 19th back in the league. After a re -promotion followed another relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga, season 1979/80 . In 2009/10 the team was given the name REDS with a new marketing concept, which comes from the club's red colors. The REDS logo is the cardinal bird.

The first men's team has returned to the Bremen League for the 2020/21 season.

youth

The 1st youth teams of the age groups play in the upper areas of the leagues:

  • The C-youth is in the Regionalliga Nord.
  • The A and B youth teams as well as the B, C and D girls' teams play in the association league
  • D-, E- and F-youth play in the city league
