Oberamt (Electoral Palatinate)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Up until the Thirty Years' War , the term Oberamt had not established itself in the Electoral Palatinate as a clear distinction and superiority to other offices, offices or sub-offices. Only then did the hierarchical structure emerge, so that from 1736 to the end of the Electoral Palatinate in 1803 there were a total of 19 higher offices in addition to the city offices of Mannheim, Heidelberg and Frankenthal.
