Die Oberpfälzer Heimat is a scientific journal published by the Oberpfälzer Waldverein since 1956 . With a few exceptions, it has appeared annually so far. It is considered to be the successor to the Heimatblätter for the upper Naabgau, published by the association from 1923 to 1940 .

The founder and first editor was Ernst Gagel , who in 1955 revived the local history working group Weiden in the Upper Palatinate Forest Association and published research results on local history in the Upper Palatinate homeland . Since issue 34 (1990), Adalbert Busl has been editor-in-chief, who took over this function after the death of the Weiden city administrator, Gerhard Zückert.

The magazine is published by Weiden's Karl Knauf Verlag.

Awards

The Upper Palatinate home received the annual prize of the Bavarian Club on December 17, 1959 and in 1982 the medal “For exemplary home care” from the Bavarian State Association for Home Care .
