Odd Grüner-Hegge
Odd Ragnar Grüner-Hegge (born September 23, 1899 in Kristiania , † May 11, 1973 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian composer, pianist and conductor.
Grüner-Hegge studied with Fridtjof Backer-Grøndahl , Otto Winter-Hjelm and Felix Weingartner . He made his pianist debut in 1918 and was conductor of the orchestra of the Philharmonic Society in Oslo from 1931 to 1961. In addition, he worked from 1934 to 1935 at the National Theater and from 1961 to 1969 at the Norwegian Opera as Kapellmeister and appeared as a guest conductor in several European cities. He composed a violin sonata, a piano sonata, a trio for piano, violin and cello and the Elegisk melodi for strings.
