Route
Profile and characteristics
The first part of the cycle path leads from Tauberbischofsheim over the Brehmbachtal cycle path to Königheim, before the long-distance cycle path to Zwingenberg runs through the steeply steep Odenwald in an alternating ascent and descent. The second section along the Neckar Valley and the Rhine Plain is almost entirely flat. The cycle path begins in Tauberbischofsheim and leads past numerous churches and chapels via Königheim , Hardheim and Höpfingen to the Catholic pilgrimage site of Walldürn . has arrived. From Mudau -Lagenelz two variants are available. The shorter - but steep - west route via Waldbrunn or the slightly longer east route via the former Neckar-Odenwald hiking railway to Mosbach . Both routes meet again in Zwingenberg. The university town of Heidelberg can be reached along the Neckar via Eberbach and Hirschhorn . holds the epitome of romance. There is a section of busy road out of town, before you continue on quiet forest paths in Schwetzingen city forest towards the final destination Speyer .
connections
The journey can be continued on a bicycle in both directions. From Tauberbischofsheim over the Taubertal cycle path or the Main-Tauber-Franconian cycle eight and from Speyer over the Rhine cycle path . In Tauberbischofsheim there is also a connection to the Jakobsweg Main-Taubertal .
There are other points of contact along the route: in Hirschhorn to the Neckar Valley Cycle Path and in Heidelberg to the Heidelberg-Black Forest-Lake Constance Cycle Path .
