Ole Arntzen (* 1946 in Oslo ; † June 26, 2013 ibid) was a Norwegian ski jumper , ski jumping trainer and official.

Career

After Arntzen was active in football , tennis , orienteering and athletics in his youth, he came into contact with Nordic skiing in his youth. At the age of only 17 he was the youngest participant ever to be a member of the Norwegian delegation at the Four Hills Tournament in 1963/64 . After a 36th place in Oberstdorf , he reached places 26 in Innsbruck and 31 in Bischofshofen . In the end, he finished 22nd in the tour's overall ranking. A year later at the Four Hills Tournament in 1964/65 he competed again in Oberstdorf and finished 58th. In the overall standings, this was enough for 32nd place.

At the Norwegian Championships in Bærum in 1965 , he won the bronze medal on the large hill behind Torgeir Brandtzæg and Bjørn Wirkola .

After the end of his active career, Arntzen worked as a ski jumping trainer for his home club IL Heming. From 1987 to 1990 he was the club's chairman. From 2005 until his death he was the managing director of Hemings Råd and editor of the magazine Hemingavisen .

After his death on June 26th, Arntzen was buried on July 4th, 2013 in the church cemetery in Ris .

Awards

Arntzen has received various awards for his successes and achievements over the years. So the Representasjonsmedaljen 1965, the Hedersmerket 1982, the Sølvskålen 1989 and the Hemingordenen 1991.
