The film tells about the South African a cappella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo and was nominated for Best Documentary Short Film at the 73rd Oscar Awards in 2001. The premiere took place as part of the Seattle International Film Festival 2000.

In the film, the musicologists Sikhole Shange, Patrick Buthelezi and Angela Impeya accompany the group Ladysmith Black Mambazo and present the history of the band as well as the historical context, such as apartheid or the Zulu . The musicians also perform in Johannesburg , London and Los Angeles .
