Oorlagh Marie George (born July 7, 1980 ) is an American - Northern Irish film producer . It won an Oscar in 2012 in the Best Short Film category .

Life

George worked from 2000 as a production assistant on individual episodes of the series The District - Operation in Washington and America Undercover as well as various films. In the following years she worked a. a. as assistant to actor Clive Owen in the films Inside Man , Shoot 'Em Up , The International , Duplicity - Common Secret and The Boys Are Back - Back to Life and for Eric Bana in Munich .

In 2004 she worked as a production manager in Rwanda's capital Kigali for the Oscar-nominated film Hotel Rwanda by her father, filmmaker Terry George .

Together with her father, she also produced the short film The Shore in 2011 . Her father directed and wrote the script. The film is about two young people who lose sight of each other during the Northern Ireland conflict and who meet again many years later. At the 2012 Academy Awards , George and her father won an Oscar in the Best Short Film category for this film .
