Operation Labrador

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Operation Labrador and Operation Opera were terrorist attacks of the Yugoslav military intelligence Kontraobaveštajna služba (KOS) under a false flag . At the beginning of the Croatian War , attempts were made to create a picture of a neo-fascist state (based on the USK) Croatia in the international media with a series of bomb attacks on Jewish facilities in the Croatian capital Zagreb .

Two bomb attacks were carried out on August 19, 1991 , one explosive device being detonated in the Jewish community center and a second in the Mirogoj cemetery near Jewish graves. There were no injuries or deaths.

After the Croatian authorities took the headquarters of the Yugoslav Air Force in Zagreb and found the relevant documents, some Yugoslav agents were arrested. Fifteen agents were released during prisoner exchanges.
