Ottis Schlachthof was a cabaret series by Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation . The program was hosted and named after Ottfried Fischer . The program was broadcast on Bavarian television from 1995 to 2012 .

Wirtshaus im Schlachthof, Munich

Host Fischer invited established cabaret colleagues as well as up-and-coming artists and newly discovered talents. The guests offered brief appearances on stage before discussing current, previously determined topics at the regulars' table . Musicians from the cabaret scene often performed .

Ten times a year, usually on the last Friday of the month, Ottfried Fischer welcomed his "regulars' table brothers and sisters". The shipments were recorded in the evening and at 22:30 in the Bavarian television broadcast. Since 1995, over 170 programs, each 60 minutes long, have been produced. From May 2012 to the last broadcast on November 23, 2012, cabaret artist Michael Altinger was a regular guest and conversation partner in every broadcast.

The broadcasts were recorded in the tavern in the slaughterhouse in Munich . The television series Zur Freiheit by Franz Xaver Bogner was filmed here in 1986 ; the restaurant is now a popular cultural meeting point.

Among others, Helge Schneider , Harald Schmidt , Christoph Sieber and Hagen Rether were guests in Fischer's show.

At the end of July 2012, Ottfried Fischer announced that the program would be discontinued at the end of 2012 due to his progressive Parkinson's disease . The last broadcast was broadcast on November 23, 2012. Since March 2013, a follow-up program called Schlachthof has been produced by Bayerischer Rundfunk .

Fischer has been hosting Ottis Aquarium , a new, 30-minute cabaret show on the pay-TV channel Heimatkanal , which is also being recorded in the tavern in the slaughterhouse, since November 15, 2014 .
