Otto Ludwig Agricola

Otto Ludwig Agricola (born February 22, 1829 in Gotha ; † December 27, 1902 in Kreuznach ) was a German administrative lawyer . He was district administrator and member of the constituent Reichstag of the North German Confederation .

Life

Career

Agricola was the son of the Saxon senior consistory councilor Friedrich Johann Agricola and his wife Louise nee Perthes. He attended the Illustre grammar school in his hometown until 1847 and graduated in Erfurt in 1852 . In 1847/48 he studied natural sciences (philosophy) at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and from 1849 to 1851 law at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen , in Bonn, at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin and in Gotha. In Bonn he became a member of the Arminia fraternity in 1847 . After that he entered the Gothic and in 1853 the Prussian civil service, became an ausculator and in 1855 government advisor . In 1858 he became a government assessor with the government in Danzig . From 1859 to 1860 he was an unskilled worker in the Prussian Ministry of the Interior and from January 20 to June 3, 1860 he took over the administration of the Schweidnitz District Office . He then worked as an unskilled worker in the Upper Presidium of the Rhine Province in Koblenz and, from October 4, 1861, as a district administrator in the Kreuznach district . From February 8, 1862 until his death on December 27, 1902, he was district administrator of the Kreuznach district and thus to this day the district administrator with the longest term in this district.

In 1867 he was a member of the constituent Reichstag of the North German Confederation for the constituency of Koblenz  4 ( Kreuznach , Simmern ) and the Free Conservative Association . From 1867 to 1870 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives , also for the constituency of Koblenz 4.

He was married twice and had five children. On May 15, 1862 he married Therese Elmire (Emmy) nee Scherzer (1840–1866), daughter of the landowner and administrator in Gotha Martin Heinrich Scherzer. On March 4, 1869, he married Karoline Perthes (1840–1923), the daughter of pastor Friedrich Matthias Perthes, in Lübeck .
