Otto Büsch

Otto Büsch (* thirtieth April 1928 in Vienna , † 23. March 1994 in Berlin ) was a German Neuzeit- and social and economic historian who is particularly concerned with the history of Prussia dealt. 1979 to 1981 he was chairman of the historical commission in Berlin .

Büsch's parents - they came from Vienna and Hamburg - had lived in Berlin since 1931. Büsch received his doctorate in 1952 from the Free University of Berlin . From 1980 he was full professor of modern history and social and economic history there. From 1963 he headed the section for economic and social history of the Historical Commission in Berlin.

One of Büsch's students is Arthur Schlegelmilch, who teaches at the Fernuniversität in Hagen .
