Otto Magnus Jakob Peter Karl Adam Freiherr von Stackelberg (born 6 August . Jul / 18th August  1867 greg. In Linden , Estonia , † 3. February 1947 in Doberan ), was a Baltic German genealogist and author.

Otto Magnus von Stackelberg was a member of the Baltic German noble family von Stackelberg . His father was Baron Magnus Peter Johann von Stackelberg (born April 18, 1839 in Linden; † January 15, 1909 in Kiwidepäh ), tenant von Linden, conductor of the excise administration in Simbirsk and Russian real councilor, his mother was Sophie Charlotte Luise von Kursell ad H. Sinnalep (born July 7, 1843 in Hapsal ; † January 27, 1914 there).

Life

Stackelberg enjoyed his school education at Kollmann's private high school in Dorpat and then studied law at the University of Dorpat from 1887 to 1892 .

After his studies, he worked as a farmer in Audern , Livonia and Sauck in Estonia, was Arrendator of Alt- and New-Riesenberg in Estonia from 1894 to 1896 and finally acquired the Kiwidepäh estate in Estonia in 1896, which he owned until 1919. Stackelberg was also the administrator of his wife's estates, for example von Putkas, and lived mostly on Großenhof .

In 1900 Stackelberg was a member of the Estonian Matriculation Commission and in 1902 a member of the treasury of the Estonian Nobility Goods Credit Administration. From 1904 he was an honorary peace judge and from 1905 to 1918 he was district deputy for the Wiek . In 1906 Stackelberg became President of the Estonian Department of the Imperial Russian Administration for Fish Breeding and Fishing. In 1917 he lived briefly in Finland , but moved to Germany in 1918, where he had owned in Schönfeld near Tiefensee in East Prussia since 1920 . He later lived in Doberan, where he also died.

Stackelberg was a legal knight of the Order of St. John .

He married on October 7, 1894 Grossenhof with Countess Dorothea ( Dolly ) Julie Charlotte Adele Ungern-Sternberg (born October 7, 1870 in Tallinn , † 1945), heiress of Grossenhof. The marriage remained childless.
