Państwowe gospodarstwo rolne (German State Agricultural Enterprise , PGR for short ) was the name for state farms in the People's Republic of Poland that arose in the course of collectivization . The PGR are comparable to the People's Own Estate (VEG) in the GDR .

In 1949, the Polish United Workers' Party (PZPR) immediately began the gradual collectivization of all farms.
