Paanajärvi ( Russian Паанаярви , transcription: Paanajarwi ) is a lake in the Republic of Karelia in northwestern Russia near the border with Finland . The lake is located in the Paanajärvi National Park . It has a length of 24 km and a maximum width of 1.5 km. The maximum depth is 128 m. The Oulankajoki flows into its western end. In the east it leaves the lake as Olanga and flows to the east to Pjaosero .
