In the summer of 1994, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant got together for a television appearance on the MTV Unplugged series in London. Old Led Zeppelin pieces with Hossam Ramzy and other North African musicians as well as the London Metropolitan Orchestra were recorded in a new arrangement. The general response to the broadcast of the corresponding MTV show, entitled No Quarter - Unledded, was so positive that an official CD (Jimmy Page & Robert Plant - No Quarter) was released from the MTV recordings . In 2004 the DVD Jimmy Page & Robert Plant - No Quarter Unledded followed .

A further collaboration between the two ex-Led Zeppelin band members developed, during which there was a successful one-year world tour with 115 concerts in 1995/1996, including in Munich's Olympic Stadium and on July 26, 1995 in London's Wembley Arena where former Led Zeppelin manager Peter Grant was in the audience.

In 1997 they recorded together the studio album Walking Into Clarksdale , which was not a sales success.
