The Palm Springs International ShortFest or Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films has been held annually since 1995 in the city of Palm Springs in the US state of California and is considered the largest short film festival in the United States .

history

The Palm Springs International ShortFest takes place seven days in June, shows more than 350 short films each year and hosts a short film market with over 3000 new short films annually. In addition, it offers a three-day program with seminars, master classes, panels and discussion rounds with free admission for all film and trade visitors. As an AMPAS qualification festival, the Palm Springs International ShortFest has presented more than 100 short films in its 25-year history, which subsequently received Oscar nominations in the short film categories.

The short film festival is a spin-off of the Palm Springs International Film Festival , which takes place in January each year.
