The Palung Ri is a glaciated mountain in the Himalayas in the autonomous region of Tibet .
The mountain has a height of 7012 m (according to other sources 7022 m ). It is located in the Mahalangur Himal . The 8188 m high Cho Oyu lies 4.17 km south-southeast. In between is the 6517 m high saddle Palung La . The Palung Glacier separates the Palung Ri massif from the Siguang Ri massif to the east ( 7308 m ). The Gyabrag glacier stretches to the west of the mountain range .
Ascent history
The first ascent of Palung Ri was achieved in 1995 by the two Slovenes Andrej and Marija Štremfelj .
