On July 9, 1982, a Boeing 727 crashed on Pan-Am Flight 759 from Miami to Las Vegas with a stopover in New Orleans shortly after taking off from New Orleans International Airport .

At 4:06 p.m. local time, the Boeing 727 received take-off clearance for runway 10.
